Eynsford - Canopy Restoration

Our slogan is Building the future, restoring the past. This project certainly showcases our restoration aspirations.

Heritage Eynsford Platform Shelter Renovation

West Maintenance Services undertook the task of renovating the heritage platform shelter at Eynsford station, originally opened in 1862. The aim of the project was to restore this vital structure, serving commuters between Swanley and Shoreham, to its former glory.

Our team of specialist carpenters and rail experts meticulously crafted every detail of the shelter, from the front-sitting daggerboards to the integrated windows, using traditional carpentry methods. Despite facing challenges such as transporting large oak pieces across the rail line and ensuring the safety of our team due to the cliff behind the station, our professionals overcame these obstacles with intricate planning and specialised scaffolding.

The completed renovation not only preserves the historical significance of Eynsford but also showcases the artistry of traditional carpentry. The shelter now stands as a testament to our commitment to excellence, offering enhanced protection against the elements while blending seamlessly with its surroundings.
