West Services Community Project: Bishopstone Station Renovation

West Services embarked on a transformational journey when our team delved into the revitalisation of the Bishopstone Station project. The opportunity to breathe new life into an abandoned store and shape it into a vibrant community hub was a task we embraced with passion and dedication.

The project kicked off with the meticulous process of clearing out the remnants of the past, unearthing precious artifacts that hinted at the rich history of the space. As the layers of neglect were peeled away, the potential of the site began to shine through. Structural changes were made, electrical systems were revamped, intricate tiling and skilled carpentry were meticulously executed, culminating in a fresh coat of paint that infused the space with new energy.

Beyond the tangible refurbishments, the project was a testament to the collaborative efforts between West Services, the local community, and the visionary group that ignited the project. Countless hours of hard work, led by Justin and supported by the dedicated team, transformed aspirations into a tangible reality that the community could soon revel in.

The grand unveiling, graced by the Kings Representative alongside Justin West, marked a momentous occasion as the once-dormant space officially opened its doors to the public. In a gesture of support and goodwill, West Services presented the community group with a Yoga Matters starter pack, fostering the growth of wellness activities within the newly revived space.

We take immense pride in the recognition bestowed upon the Bishopstone Station project, having been Highly Commended at the prestigious National Railway Heritage Awards 2024. This accolade stands as a testament to the unwavering commitment and passion poured into every facet of this transformative initiative.
